Ponnapula Sanjeeva Prasad is an Indian-born businessman, entrepreneur, and founder of the Goldstone Group of companies based in Hyderabad. Being born into a middle-class family, Dr Prasad qualified at medical school and practiced as a psychiatrist in USA. He eventually took a risk and moved into the business of real-estate. After early successes, he began to invest in the growing Indian economy and moved to Hyderabad to pursue his business ventures. In 1994, Dr Prasad founded the Goldstone Group which included Goldstone Infratech, Trinity Clean Tech, Trinity Infra Venture, and Goldstone Technologies. Goldstone Infratech is a manufacturer of high-quality polymer-based insulators used in transformers, and now in association with BYD of China, is currently producing electric vehicles in a bid to address the ongoing issues of emissions and vehicular pollution amongst Indian urban areas. Trinity Clean Tech is now manufacturing a range of eco-friendly products such as electric 3-wheelers, packaged substations and battery charging & storage solutions. Goldstone Technologies is a publicly listed company and is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India. Current affairsPresently living in India, the local press had reported that he was an accused in the Miyapur land scam, however, the DY Commissioner of Police, Crime, Hyderabad, issued a statement confirming that he is not subject to any investigation and no case has been filed against him. The false propaganda and negative publicity had been initiated by land grabbers who lost their claims on the property in CS 14/1958 in the Supreme Court of India.[1] As a result, Prasad has filed a Criminal Defamation Case No CTC 32362/2016 in Delhi against Hameedunissa Begum, who is a sold sharer and active initiator of false propaganda to newspapers and TV channels alike. She has been issued a warrant regarding the matter and the case is currently pending.[2] The Miyapur matter is also pending in the Supreme Court for a decision as to the title and deeds to the property. The Chief Minister of Telangana, in his statement dated 13 June 2017[3] – which was published in the Deccan Chronicle and the Times of India – confirmed that has been no loss of land or revenue to the State.
