Cabinet SecretarySinha was appointed the Cabinet Secretary of India on 29 May 2015 by the ACC.[2][7][8][9][10] He succeeded Ajit Seth. He served as an officer of special (OSD), in the rank of secretary, in the Cabinet Secretariat till Seth's retirement,[2][4][7][8][9][10][11] formally taking charge as Cabinet Secretary on 13 June 2015.[2][4][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] The union government constituted a selection committee headed by Cabinet Secretary P.K.
