[4]He worked as a principal in Ravenshaw University (formerly Ravenshaw College), Cuttack[5][6]Pro Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi[7] and Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.[8] The "Parija Library" of the university is named after him.[9] He was working as a scientist for agricultural development in Orissa.[6][10] He was an elected member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.[11] Awards and recognitions
