Previously she was the Executive Director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the lead academic for Sierra Leone at the International Growth Centre, a research centre based jointly at The London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Oxford.[2] Her current research includes randomized evaluations of community driven development in Sierra Leone, empowerment of adolescent girls in Bangladesh, and health, education, and microfinance in India. Before joining J-PAL and the International Growth Centre, Glennerster worked as an Economic Adviser to HM Treasury, a Development Associate at the Harvard Institute for International Development, and as a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund.
