}} The Rakwal are a Rajput clan found mainly in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. They are Suryavanshi Rajput, descendants of Rama. Their immediate ancestor was Raja Abta Deo of Jammu, who founded a principality in Sialkot. They are a Dogra sub-group, and their customs are similar to other Dogras. The Rakwal intermarry with the Sulehria, Langeh, Andotra, Bhalwal, Baghal, Charak and Jaj.Is the 3rd highest caste in Rajputana. Rakwal Rajputs used a war cry on assault, was 'JAI DEV'. Now Jai Dev is mainly used to wish another Rajput person. Presently, Rakwal Rajputs are settled at Bode and Juthana about 25 km from Kathua City. And Some of Rakwal Rajputs are settled in Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir. A place named Chak Rakhwal in Udhampur District also represents Rakwal Rajputs.
