It is located at 1510 Jackson Street, Northeast, Washington, D.C., United States, in the Brookland neighborhood.[2] He lived there while he was a professor at Howard University, and worked at the State Department, from 1941 to 1947.[3] It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It was named as an endangered place by the D.C. Preservation League in 2001.[4] See also
