It came into existence on 14 February 2008 by proclamation under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972. On the same day, a separate proclamation ensured that “certain existing and future rights of entry, prospecting, exploration or mining” permitted under the state's Mining Act 1971 and Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 would apply to the extent of the conservation park.[4][5] As of 2018, it covered an area of {{convert|1.45|km2}}.[3] The following statement of significance appears in its management plan:[6] Ramsay Conservation Park (147.2 hectares; proclaimed in 2008) is a small park in the Minlaton-Curramulka Threatened Habitat Area. Its dominant vegetation is sheoak and mallee, with very low woodlands and a grassy understorey. It occurs in a high priority bioregion and conserves some species of conservation significance, including the nationally and state endangered Jumping-jack Wattle (Acacia enterocarpa), which has not been recorded thus far in any other National Parks and Wildlife Act reserves on Yorke Peninsula. The conservation park is classified as an IUCN Category VI protected area.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web|title= Terrestrial Protected Areas of South Australia (refer 'DETAIL' tab ) |url= http://www.environment.gov.au/system/files/pages/761994ab-42cc-4f24-952c-c21221861884/files/capad2016sa.xlsx |work=CAPAD 2016|publisher=Australian Government, Department of the Environment (DoE) |accessdate=21 February 2018 |date=2016}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|title= Search results for ‘Ramsay Conservation Park’ with the following datasets selected – ‘Suburbs and Localities’, ‘NPW and Conservation Boundaries’ and ‘Gazetteer’ |url= http://location.sa.gov.au/viewer/?map=roads&x=137.83915&y=-34.77647&z=12&uids=41,19,105&pinx=137.794180&piny=-34.761560&pinTitle=Location&pinText=Ramsay+Conservation+Park,+Park |website=Location SA Map Viewer |publisher= South Australian Government |accessdate=28 April 2018 }} 3. ^1 {{cite web|title=Protected Areas Information System Reserve List |url=http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/files/sharedassets/public/park_management/protected-areas-reserve-list-march2018-gen.pdf |publisher=Government of South Australia |accessdate=26 April 2018 |date=9 March 2018 }} 4. ^1 {{cite web|title=National Parks and Wildlife (Ramsay Conservation Park) Proclamation 2008|url=http://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/sa/proc/npawcpp2008607/|website=The South Australian Government Gazette|publisher=South Australian Government|accessdate=28 April 2018|page=499|date=14 February 2008}} 5. ^{{cite web|last1= |first1= |title= National Parks and Wildlife (Ramsay Conservation Park—Mining Rights) Proclamation 2008 |url= http://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/sa/proc/npawcprp2008742/ |website=South Australian Government Gazette |publisher=South Australian Government |accessdate=29 April 2018|page= 494 |date= 14 February 2008}} 6. ^1 {{cite web|title=Mainland Conservation Parks of Yorke Peninsula Management Plan 2009|url=http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/files/40ccb65e-c97a-4f04-af74-9e4f00b16e48/mainland-cps-of-yp-mp.pdf|publisher=Department for Environment and Heritage|accessdate=15 July 2014|page=2}} External links
