The racial makeup of the city was 98.3% White, 0.9% Asian, and 0.9% from two or more races. There were 65 households of which 13.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 38.5% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 44.6% were non-families. 36.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.80 and the average family size was 2.25. The median age in the city was 53.9 years. 11.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 3.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 19.6% were from 25 to 44; 36.7% were from 45 to 64; and 29.1% were 65 years of age or older. The population density was 407.8 people per square mile (155.5/km²). There were 95 housing units at an average density of 253.2 per square mile (96.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.35% White, and 0.65% from two or more races. There were 74 households out of which 21.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.9% were married couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.9% were non-families. 43.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.07 and the average family size was 2.83. In the city, the population was spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 2.6% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 26.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females, there were 109.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 113.0 males. The median income for a household in the city was $21,500, and the median income for a family was $28,750. Males had a median income of $21,000 versus $15,625 for females. The per capita income for the city was $11,342.
