Reuben Martin (1875[1] – April 17, 1946[2]) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Wilkie from 1917 to 1921 as a Liberal. He was born in Ontario, learned to be a shoemaker and then, in 1894, travelled west to Boissevain, Manitoba, where he opened a men's clothing store. In 1906, he moved to Battleford, Saskatchewan. In 1909, he came to Macklin as manager of a lumber yard. Martin married Martha Ireland later that same year. They settled on a homestead north of Macklin. Martin served on the first town council for Macklin, was a member of the local school board, also serving as chairman, and was reeve of Eye Hill at the time of his death in 1946.[2] He was defeated by Sidney Bingham when he ran for reelection in 1921.[3] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.saskarchives.com/sites/default/files/documents/Membership-of-Legislatures.pdf |title=Members of the Legislative Assembly, Saskatchewan |publisher=Saskatchewan Archives Board |accessdate=2012-03-31}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Martin, Reuben}}{{Saskatchewan-politician-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite book |url=http://www.ourroots.ca/page.aspx?id=2881112 |title=Prairie views from Eye Hill |page=496-7 |last=Conly |first=Susan |year=1992 |accessdate=2012-04-01}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.saskarchives.com/sites/default/files/documents/Elections-Results-by-Electoral-Division.pdf |title=Saskatchewan Election Results By Electoral Division |publisher=Saskatchewan Archives Board |accessdate=2012-03-27 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20131112235500/http://www.saskarchives.com/sites/default/files/documents/Elections-Results-by-Electoral-Division.pdf |archivedate=2013-11-12 |df= }} 3 : Saskatchewan Liberal Party MLAs|1875 births|1946 deaths |
