This insect pest can destroy groves and plantations of coconut and migrate to date palms and other palms, causing economic damage to farmers and landscapers. The nematode species Heterorhabditis indica has been used effectively against the red weevil.[2] References1. ^The biology and host plants of the Australian weevil Rhinotia haemoptera (Kirby) (Insecta, Coleoptera, Belidae).
