Club careerMartínez was born in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. In January 2018, La Liga side Villarreal announced the signing of Martínez on loan from Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning with a purchase option for the end of the season.[1][2] In June 2018, Villarreal exercised the option to sign Martínez and immediately sold him to Liga MX side Club América.[3][4] International careerMartínez was included in coach José Pekerman's squad for the Copa América Centenario.
