They are located south of Scoresbyøya, in the bay of Sabinebukta. The islands are named after Arctic explorer Edward Sabine.[3] The most northern island has a length of about 1.5 kilometers and is the largest of the islands.[4] References1. ^National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency: Geographical Names. {{svalbard-geo-stub}}2. ^MyFishMaps.com: Sabine Islands 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://placenames.npolar.no/stadnamn/Sabineøyane |title=Sabineøyane (Svalbard) |publisher=Norwegian Polar Institute |accessdate=11 July 2013}} 4. ^{{cite book |title=Arctic Pilot: Sailing directions Svalbard–Jan Mayen |year=1988 | volume =7 |publisher=The Norwegian Hydrographic Service and The Norwegian Polar Institute |location=Stavanger |language= |isbn=82-90653-06-9 |page=324 }} 1 : Islands of Svalbard |
