McCosker in 1974.[3] It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the eastern central and southeastern Pacific Ocean, including Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico.[4] It dwells at a depth range of {{convert|0|to|17|m|ft}}, and inhabits sand sediments. Males can reach a maximum total length of {{convert|31|cm|in}}.[2] Due to a lack of known major threats and lack of observed population decline, the IUCN redlist currently lists the Sailfin snake-eel as Least Concern.[4] References1. ^Common names of Letharchus rosenblatti at www.fishbase.org. {{Taxonbar|from=Q2214367}}{{Anguilliformes-stub}}2. ^1 Letharchus rosenblatti at www.fishbase.org. 3. ^McCosker, J.
