At the 2006 census, its population was 1,360, in 208 families.[2] Sar Aqa Seyyed is a village, located 130 kilometers from Shahr-e Kord and 45 kilometers northwest of Chelgard in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran.According to an ISCA report, the spectacular architecture of Sar Agha Seyyed is popularly known as "The yard of the building above is the roof of the building below". The buildings have been built into the mountain and are interconnected. Courtyards and roofs both serve as pedestrian areas similar to streets. Homes in Sar Aqa Seyyed are believed to be at least 600 years old and most of them in the village do not have windows. The village is inhabited by 3,000 Bakhtiari nomads. Due to the mild weather, the best time to visit is late spring and early summer. This mountainous village, that is about 130 km from Shahrekord and 200 km from Isfahan, and its lush vegetation have turned the village into a great destination for those who wish to experience the simple lifestyle.
