Grimm's Deutsches Wörterbuch defines Schweinpriester or Schweinepriester as a word for an unclean or foul-mouthed person (an unreinlichen oder unflätigen Menschen).^[1]

The expression is documented since the 19th century. Originally, it denoted swineherds in the service of a monastery who were also tasked with castrating of piglets.^[2]
