Laya | website = http://www.dbm.gov.ph }} The Secretary of Budget and Management (Filipino: Kalihim ng Pagbabadyet at Pamamahala) is the head of the Department of Budget and Management and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. President Rodrigo Duterte has named Budget Undersecretary Janet Abuel as officer-in-charge of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). Duterte named Abuel at the helm of the DBM following the appointment of then-Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno as the Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Diokno replaced Nestor Espenilla Jr., who died after fighting tongue cancer on February 23, 2019.[1] Budget Undersecretary Janet Abuel will assume the post until a new Budget chief is appointed. Her predecessor, Benjamin Diokno, served as the Secretary of Budget and Management of the Philippines from June 30, 2016 to March 4, 2019.
