It is located in Guantang Township, Liangyuan District, {{convert|16|km}} west of the city center. The airport was built in 1968 for military use,[1] and it is planned to convert the air base to a dual-use military and civil airport with an estimated investment of 500 million yuan. The airport is expected to serve 300,000 passengers and 1,000 tons of cargo per year by 2020.[2] See also
