}}Simmarasi is a 1998 Tamil drama film directed and written by Erode Soundar. The film features Sarathkumar and Kushboo in lead roles whilst Anandaraj, Kanaka and Manivannan play supporting roles.^[1]^[2] The film was one among 1998 Deepavali releases and opened in October to positive reviews. Sarathkumar bagged the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor.^[3]

Plot

A Man Happens to stop a caste fight in a village,the villagers ask him to remain and help with their conflicts.thus inciting the wrath of the biggest Bad man in the village, a man who killed his own brother for marrying into a different caste. His son (Vineeth) wants to build a factory, which he wont allow this makes his son ally with the bad man in the village.

Kanaka replaced Gouthami in the film during July 1998.^[4]
