}}Sinopa is an extinct genus of hyaeanodontid that lived during the Eocene to Early Oligocene in United States and Asia.[1] DescriptionSinopa was a small hyaenodontid. Its carnassial teeth were the second upper molar and the lower third. Sinopa had an estimated weight of 1.3 to 1.4 kilograms. The type specimen was found in the Bridger formation in Uinta County, Wyoming, and existed 50.3 to 46.2 million years ago.[2]TaxonomyThe putative African species "Sinopa" ethiopica from Egypt was considered a species of Metasinopa by Savage, 1965, although Holroyd (1994) considered it a potential new genus.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://paleodb.org/cgi-bin/bridge.pl?a=basicTaxonInfo&taxon_no=40944 |work=The Paleobiology Database |title=Sinopa |accessdate= 3 May 2011}} {{Commons category|position=left}}{{Hyaenodonta}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q7524925}}2. ^S.
