It inhabits crevices in rocks and can be found in tide pools down to a depth of around {{convert|14|m|ft}}. This species grows to a maximum length of {{convert|6.5|cm|in}} SL. This species is the only known member of its genus.[2] DescriptionIt is brown with 6-7 white bars along its side, with some bars weak or missing. There is a narrow white bar at the base of its pectoral fin, followed by a dark brown bar. It is elongated and somewhat compressed. Its large head is flattened with swollen cheeks and a large mouth. It has a pore between its eyes, and two small pores on its preopercle. Its tail fin is long and rounded without scaes or a lateral line.[3] HabitatThe slow goby inhabits rocky crevices in tide pools and under cobble in shallow water. The larvae are usually found around sargassum. It needs a temperature of 20.8-23.8 degrees Celsius (69.4-74.8 degrees Fahrenheit). Adults are benthic.[3][1] References1. ^1 {{cite journal | author1 = Findley, L. | author2 = Van Tassell, J. | last-author-amp = yes | year = 2010 | title = Aruma histrio | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2010 | page = e.T183345A8097387 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2010-3.RLTS.T183345A8097387.en }} 2. ^{{FishBase species |genus= Aruma|species= histrio| month = April | year = 2013}} 3. ^1 {{Cite web|url=http://eol.org/pages/222626/details|title=Slow Goby - Aruma histrio - Details - Encyclopedia of Life|website=Encyclopedia of Life|language=en|access-date=2018-02-23}} External links
