He played at representative level for Cumberland, and at club level captained Hensingham A.R.L.F.C. (in Hensingham, Whitehaven),[3] Workington Town, Broughton Moor A.R.L.F.C. (in Broughton Moor) and Whitehaven, as a {{rlp|sh}}, i.e. number 7, and coached at club level for Whitehaven.[4][5] Playing careerCounty honoursSol Roper represented Cumberland while at Workington Town.
