The show is to be pulled from the schedule after episode 20 has screened, with the final six shows of the 26 shows recorded, to be aired later in 2014.[4] The show was cancelled on the day new host Josh Earl's second child was born. [5] Premise of the showThe show is hosted by stand-up comedian Josh Earl, who poses questions to two teams each headed by permanent team captains, singer/songwriter Ella Hooper and radio presenter/comedian Adam Richard.[3] The overall style of the show is a mix of music and comedy. The revival includes a refreshed format and new games.[6] Delayed relaunchThe revival of the show was originally announced in November 2012, during the ABC 2013 program launch but the network decided to delay the relaunch until 2014.[7][8] ABC executives were reportedly upset when news of the return of the show in 2014 was prematurely leaked before the intended official announcement.[9] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/its-the-end-for-spicks-and-specks-20110525-1f3mr.html |title=It's the end for Spicks and Specks |author= |date=25 May 2011 |work=The Age |accessdate=1 January 2014}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/new-love-for-old-spicks-and-specks/story-fni0b7je-1226800951863 |title=New love for old Spicks and Specks |last1=Byrnes |first1=Holly |date=13 January 2014 |work=Herald Sun |accessdate=13 January 2014}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=http://www.abc.net.au/tv/programs/spicks-and-specks-2014/ |title=Spicks and Specks |author= |year=2013 |publisher=ABC TV |accessdate=1 January 2014}} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2014/05/abc-to-yank-spicks-specks-from-schedule.html |title=ABC to yank Spicks & Specks from schedule |last1=Knox |first1=David |last2= |first2= |date=30 May 2014 |website=TV Tonight |publisher=TV Tonight |accessdate=30 May 2014}} 5. ^{{cite podcast|title=Fitbet with Dilruk Jayasinha and Ben Lomas - Bicep Jearl|publisher=Omny|date=13 May 2018|time=10:15|url=https://omny.fm/shows/fitbet-with-dilruk-jayasinha-and-ben-lomas/13-bicep-jearl?t=10m15s|access-date=15 May 2018}} 6. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2013/11/new-spicks-and-specks-team-tipped.html |title=New Spicks and Specks team tipped |last1=Knox |first1=David |date=10 November 2013 |work=TV Tonight |accessdate=1 January 2014}} 7. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/abcs-spicks-and-specks-returns-minus-adam-hills-and-myf-warhurst/story-e6frfmyi-1226526614653 |title=ABC's Spicks and Specks returns minus Adam Hills and Myf Warhurst |author= |date=29 November 2012 |publisher=News Ltd |accessdate=1 January 2014}} 8. ^{{cite web |url=http://about.abc.net.au/press-releases/abc-tv-in-2013-amazing/ |title=ABC TV in 2013… Amazing! |author= |date=29 November 2012 |publisher=ABC Media Centre |accessdate=1 January 2014}} 9. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/spicks-and-specks-is-back-20131111-2xbi3.html |title=Spicks and Specks is back |last1=Ellis |first1=Scott |date=11 November 2013 |work=The Sydney Morning Herald |accessdate=1 January 2014}} External links
