It is found in the Democratic Republic of Congo (East Kasai, Katanga), Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.[3] Like other species of genus Spirama, S. glaucescens has a pattern on the wings when the moth is resting that looks like the face of a snake with slightly opened mouth.[4] References1. ^{{cite web |last=Yu |first=Dicky Sick Ki |date=1997–2012 |url=http://www.taxapad.com/local.php?taxonidLC=86002354 |title=Spirama glaucescens (Butler 1893) |website=Home of Ichneumonoidea |publisher=Taxapad |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150707233136/http://www.taxapad.com/local.php?taxonidLC=86002354 |archive-date=July 7, 2015}} 2. ^Speiredonia glaucescens - BoLD 3. ^Afro Moths 4. ^African moths External links{{wikispecies}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q13521790}}{{Erebinae-stub}} 2 : Moths described in 1893|Spirama |
