She was built by John Cran & Co. at Leith, and launched on 22 January 1908.[2] She became known for her assistance of the {{RMS|Titanic}}, the ill-fated British ocean liner, following her launch from the Harland and Wolff slips on 31 May 1911. On 2 April 1912, Titanic was completed. Hornby tended to her again, this time during her sea trials.[3] In 1935, Hornby was sold to the Newport Screw Towing Co., and renamed Holman. Then in 1961, she was broken up at Newport, Monmouthshire, UK.[4]References1. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.plimsollshipdata.org/pdffile.php?name=34a0274.pdf | title=Hornby | work=Lloyd's Register | date=1934–35 | accessdate=14 December 2012}} 2. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/hornby.html | title=Hornby | work=encyclopedia-titanica | date=5 December 2004 | accessdate=14 December 2012 | author=Eaton, John P.}} 3. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.titanic-titanic.com/titanic_launch.shtml | title=Titanic's launch | work=titanic-titanic.com | accessdate=14 December 2012 | author=Clarkson, Andrew}} 4. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.tugboatlars.se/Hornby.htm | title=Hornby | work=tugboatlars.se | accessdate=14 December 2012 | author=Westin, Bengt|language=sv}}
