The House State Properties Committee is an eleven-member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and eight members. The Committee operates under a House mandate to oversee Georgia's Department of Corrections.[1] Scope and jurisdictionThe House State Properties Committee is responsible for oversight of Georgia's Department of Corrections, to ensure it protects and serves the public and is conducted as a professional organization that manages offenders and helps to provide a safe and secure environment for the citizens of Georgia. The committee also oversees the Georgia Building Authority which manages facilities for all state agencies.
