In the late 2013 it had about 600 inhabitants.[1] HistoryThe village could have existed before 1258. After World War I in the Upper Silesia plebiscite 260 out of 393 voters in Stodoły voted in favour of joining Poland, against 131 opting for staying in Germany.[2] Nevertheless it stayed a part of Germany, on the border with Poland. It was renamed as "Hochlinden" after campaign of cleansing "Non-German" place names in 1936.[3] It was a place of a Nazi false flag operation (as part of Operation Himmler) on August 31, 1939.[4][5][6] After the war it became a part of Poland. In years 1973-1977 it was a part of gmina Chwałęcice and was amalgamated with Rybnik on February 1, 1977.[7] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.rybnik.pl/index.php?id=78|title=Stodoły|publisher=rybnik.eu|access-date=2015-05-13|language=Polish}} {{commons category|Stodoły (Rybnik)}}{{Districts of Rybnik}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Stodoly, Rybnik}}{{Silesian-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://home.arcor.de/oberschlesien-ka/abstimmung/rybnik.htm|title=Results of the Upper Silesia plebiscite in Rybnik County|language=German|access-date=2015-05-03|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160304050546/http://home.arcor.de/oberschlesien-ka/abstimmung/rybnik.htm|archivedate=2016-03-04|df=}} 3. ^http://gov.genealogy.net/item/show/object_189037 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://wisla.naszemiasto.pl/archiwum/prowokacja-hitlerowska-we-wsi-stodoly-to-jeden-z,1516470,art,t,id,tm.html|title=Prowokacja hitlerowska we wsi Stodoły to jeden z zapomnianych epizodów II wojny światowej|publisher=Dziennik Zachodni|date=2007-08-31|access-date=2015-05-13|language=Polish}} 5. ^Martin Allen, Himmler's Secret War: The Covert Peace Negotiations of Heinrich Himmler, Carroll & Graf Publishers, 2005, {{ISBN|0-7867-1708-4}}, [https://books.google.com/books?id=D0esWBqTYkMC&pg=PA51&dq=%22Operation+Himmler%22&ei=fyDOR5L2MJXGyASA6MmNBQ&sig=cTthRnwEnnEqLry4p0Fb5vdbmQg Google Print, p.51] 6. ^Christopher J.
