In February of 2017 she made false allegations of racial profiling against a member of the Calgary Police Service following a traffic stop in which she failed to stop for a marked police cruiser for over 20 blocks and was suspected of impairment. After being called out by the chief of the CPS including video evidence that she had made false statements she retracted her comments. CareerOmony hosted Canada's Miss Exotika beauty pageant in 2013.[1] She worked as a procurement analyst in the oil industry.[2] ModelingOmony started modeling when she was sixteen.[3] She was first spotted by a Mode Models agent in 2002 at a career fair. She modeled for African magazines FabAfriq and Tropics.[4] She has modeled for Italian Vogue,[5] Old Navy and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.[6] She started losing weight when she first started modeling, pressured to be skinny by industry standards. Instead, she became a full-time plus-size model.[3][8] She has been interviewed on the CBC's Daybreak Alberta about her plus-size modeling and activism.[6] ActivismOmony started the non-profit organization Immigrant Youth Empowerment Society in 2004. The mission of the organization is to empower young people in their neighborhoods around education and family life.[3][7] She also works with the FEED1 Project, Hearts 4 Peace,[4] and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.[7] Omony has her own TV show, the Sunday Omony Show, which airs on Shaw TV.[8] Personal lifeOmony was born in the Kitgum District of Uganda before moving to Canada when she was 6.[4] She is the oldest of four siblings.[9] In 1991, she moved to Canada.[3] She lives in Calgary, Alberta.
