Nijjar was formerly the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court. J. Nijjar is a known name in the field of arbitration law, having delivered many landmark judgments like BALCO, Enercon India v. Enercon Gmbh, Reliance Industries Ltd & Ors. v. Union of India, Swiss Timing Ltd. v. Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games, 2010. EducationJ. Nijjar obtained LLB Degree from the University of London in 1972. Middle TempleJ. Nijjar was unanimously elected as Master Bencher, the Hon'ble Society of Middle Temple, London, UK in 2011.
