释义 |
Schlettwein was born in Omaruru. Her publication Bullies, Beasts and Beauties, is a collection of short stories co-authored with Isabella Morris.[2] She received a Highly Commended Award in the 2010 Commonwealth Short Story competition for her story “Framing the Nation” and was selected for the 2011 FEMRITE Residency for African Women Writers in Kampala, Uganda.[3] In 2012 she attended the Kwani? Litfest within the framework of the Moving Africa Programme by the Goethe-Institut.[4] Serubiri Moses highlights a kind of individual feminist tendency in her story "Mother of the Beast", from the anthology Summoning the Rains, when he says "It is twisted in a way that puts self-individualism at the forefront without seeming too crude or too bitter. Everyone seems to try, but eventually give up. She in turn is left alone in that last scene with her jackal fur wrapped around her shoulders, failing to pull together her family life or her work life, left in a trance, bleak and abandoned."[5] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://shortstorydayafrica.org/authors/q-t/sylvia-schlettwein/|title=Sylvia Schlettwein - Short Story Day Africa|publisher=|accessdate=23 December 2014}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Schlettwein, Sylvia}}{{Namibia-writer-stub}}{{Africa-translator-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.namibiana.de/namibia-information/who-is-who/personen/infos-zur-person/bullies-beasts-beauties-sylvia-schlettwein-isabella-morris-9789991687803-978-99916-878-0-3.html|title=Bullies Beasts Beauties Sylvia Schlettwein Isabella Morris 9789991687803-978-99916-878-0-3 vorgestellt im Namibiana Buchdepot|author=Namibiana Buchdepot|publisher=|accessdate=23 December 2014}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://blog.goethe.de/moving-africa/pages/qa_kwani_Schlettwein_en.html|title=Moving Africa|publisher=|accessdate=23 December 2014}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://blog.goethe.de/moving-africa/|title=Moving Africa|publisher=|accessdate=23 December 2014}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://startjournal.org/2012/07/summoning-the-rains-african-women-on-patriarchy/|title=Start – A Journal of Arts and Culture in East Africa » Blog Archive » Summoning the Rains: African women on patriarchy|publisher=|accessdate=23 December 2014}} 16 : 1975 births|Namibian women writers|Living people|Namibian critics|Namibian short story writers|People from Omaruru|21st-century women writers|Women critics|Namibian women short story writers|21st-century translators|Namibian translators|21st-century short story writers|20th-century Namibian writers|21st-century Namibian writers|20th-century Namibian women writers|21st-century Namibian women writers |
