It was certified Platinum on May 15, 1995 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This was her breakthrough album, producing her first Top 5 hit in "My Baby Loves Me", which was previously released as a single by Canadian singer Patricia Conroy from her 1992 album Bad Day for Trains. McBride's version was a number 2 on the Hot Country Songs charts. Also released from this album were "Life #9" at number 6, "Independence Day" at number 12, "Heart Trouble" at number 21, and finally, "Where I Used to Have a Heart" at number 49. ContentAlthough never released as a single, "Strangers" was reprised on McBride's Greatest Hits album in 2001. In the liner notes of that album, she stated that she included the song because it was a fan favorite, and she felt that it would have been a better follow-up to "Independence Day" than "Heart Trouble" and "Where I Used to Have a Heart" were.[4] The Compact Cassette version of this album omits the final track, "Ashes".[5] Track listing{{track listing| title1 = Heart Trouble | writer1 = Paul Kennerley | length1 = 3:19 | title2 = My Baby Loves Me | writer2 = Gretchen Peters | length2 = 2:36 | title3 = That Wasn't Me | writer3 = Gary Harrison, Tim Mensy | length3 = 3:44 | title4 = Independence Day | writer4 = Peters | length4 = 3:25 | title5 = Where I Used to Have a Heart | writer5 = Craig Bickhardt | length5 = 3:50 | title6 = Goin' to Work | writer6 = Bill Lloyd, Pam Tillis | length6 = 3:30 | title7 = She Ain't Seen Nothing Yet | writer7 = Walt Aldridge, Anna Lisa Graham | length7 = 3:26 | title8 = Life #9 | writer8 = Kostas, Tony Perez | length8 = 3:59 | title9 = Strangers | writer9 = Bobby Braddock | length9 = 3:21 | title10 = Ashes | writer10 = Chris Waters, Lonnie Wilson, Charlotte Wilson | length10 = 2:55 |total_length = 34:05 }}{{track listing | headline = International bonus tracks | title11 = The Time Has Come | writer11 = Lonnie Wilson, Susan Longacre | length11 = 2:32 | title12 = That's Me | writer12 = Tony Haselden, Bob Alan | length12 = 3:52 | title13 = Cheap Whiskey | writer13 = Emory Gordy, Jr., Jim Rushing | length13 = 3:08 | title14 = When You Are Old | writer14 = Peters | length14 = 3:07 }} PersonnelCompiled from liner notes.[5]
