Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from 2002 to 2013. Early life and educationHe was born on 10 April 1969 in Vehari.[1] He graduated in 1996 from the University of Karachi.[1] Political careerHe served as union council nazim of Vehari.[2] He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) from Constituency PP-236 (Vehari-V) in Pakistani general election, 2002. He received 37,363 votes and defeated Nafisa Rashid, a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q).[3] He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab as a candidate of PML-Q from Constituency PP-236 (Vehari-V) in Pakistani general election, 2008.
