It is located in the north, northeast, and east of the autonomous okrug. The area of the district is {{convert|174343.92|km2|sp=us}}.{{citation needed|date=June 2013}} Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Tazovsky.[2] Population: 16,537 (2010 Census);[4] {{ru-census|p2002=15,600|p1989=18,515}} The population of the administrative center accounts for 41.1% of the district's total population.[4] See also
