Walker House is a historic house located at Gloucester, Gloucester County, Virginia. It was built about 1880, and is a two-story, "U"-shaped, frame vernacular dwelling with traces of Greek Revival and Gothic Revival styles. It has a cross-gable roof, two-bay addition, and front porch. It was the home of Thomas Calhoun Walker, who worked tirelessly to improve African-American land ownership and educational opportunities. He purchased the home in 1900.[3] The house was donated to Hampton University in 1977.[4] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Virginia Landmarks Register|url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/register_counties_cities.htm|publisher=Virginia Department of Historic Resources|accessdate=5 June 2013}} {{National Register of Historic Places in Virginia}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Walker, T.C., House}}{{GloucesterCountyVA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/Counties/Gloucester/036-5053_TC_Walker_House_2009_NR_FINAL.pdf |title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: T.C.
