ProductionThe film was written by Daniel Bailey, a 22-year-old landscape architecture student at Kingston University residing in Neasden, London.[1] The screenplay was one of 60 entries[1] into "Project 7", which was a script-writing competition for young people aged between 12 and 24 to create a seven-minute short film based around one of the seven core Olympic and Paralympic Values (Respect, Excellence, Friendship, Courage, Determination, Inspiration and Equality).[2] The film was based around the value of "inspiration".[1] The film was shot using a Sony F3 camera. It was set at the Stonebridge Boxing Club in Willesden, London.[3] It was produced by Scruffbag Productions as a result of receiving commission from Brent Council and West London Partnership of London 2012.[2] ReleaseOn 17 April 2012, the film along with the runner-up of "Project 7", premiered during a special screening at the Lexi Cinema in Kensal Rise, London.[4] On 2 May 2012,[5] the film was screened at Horse Hospital in Russell Square, London.[1] In September 2012, the film was entered in the Raindance Film Festival.[6][7][8] References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=http://www.kingston.ac.uk/pressoffice/news/363/17-05-2012-boxing-rings-true-as-students-olympic-inspired-script-championed-in-run-up-to-games.html|title=Boxing rings true as student's Olympic-inspired script championed in run up to Games|publisher=Kingston University London|date=17 May 2012|accessdate=1 October 2012}} 2. ^1 {{cite news |last=Demsey|first=John|url=http://www.bnctv.co.uk/the-boxer-and-memory-lane-premiere-at-the-lexi-success|title=‘The Boxer’ And ‘Memory Lane’ Premiere At The Lexi Success|work= |location=London|publisher=BNCTV North West London|date=18 April 2012|accessdate=1 October 2012}} 3. ^{{cite news |last=Walters|first=Max|url=http://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/news/neasden_man_s_film_set_in_stonebridge_boxing_club_to_be_screen_at_kensal_rise_cinema_1_1342764|title=Neasden man’s film set in Stonebridge Boxing Club to be screen at Kensal Rise cinema|work= |location=Kilburn|publisher=Kilburn Times|date=6 April 2012|accessdate=2 October 2012}} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.brent.gov.uk/pressreleases.nsf/News/LBB-1777|title=Winners of Project 7 young film makers competition announced|publisher=Brent Council||date=2 April 2012|accessdate=2 June 2012}} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.squidlondon.com/2012/05/03/scruffbag-productions-film-screening/|title=Scruffbag Productions : Film Screening|publisher=Brent Council||date=3 April 2012|accessdate=2 June 2012}} 6. ^{{cite news |last=Barnes|first=Tom|url=http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/londonnews/9718926.Student_works_with_Denzil_on_debut_film/|title=Kingston student works with Only Fools and Horses star on debut film|work= |location=London|publisher=This Is Local London|date=22 May 2012|accessdate=2 October 2012}} 7. ^{{cite news |last=Barnes|first=Tom|url=http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/local/kingstonnews/9718926.Student_works_with_Denzil_on_debut_film/?ref=rss|title=Kingston student works with Only Fools and Horses star on debut film|work= |location=Kingston|publisher=Your Local Guardian|date=22 May 2012|accessdate=2 October 2012}} 8. ^{{cite news |last=Barnes|first=Tom|url=http://www.epsomguardian.co.uk/education/educationnews/9718926.Student_works_with_Denzil_on_debut_film/?ref=rss|title=Kingston student works with Only Fools and Horses star on debut film|work= |location=Epsom|publisher=Epsom Guardian|date=22 May 2012|accessdate=2 October 2012}} External links
