The original production was held at Jane Street Theatre in Randwick, Sydney, and featured Robyn Nevin and Kate Fitzpatrick, and was directed by John Bell.[1] It was heavily revised throughout rehearsals.[2] It was a big success, commercially and critically, and toured Australia. It has since been much revived. According to Ellis, the play was responsible for helping revive Australian theatre.[2][3] References1. ^Original production details at AusStage 2. ^1 Leslie Rees, Australian Drama in the 1970s, Angus & Robertson, 1978 p 17-22 3. ^'BOB ELLIS – A WISE OLD ROMANTIC FOOL' George Negus Tonight, 10 June 2004 External links
