释义 |
They are commonly known as saltwater cresses[3] because of their ability to grow in salty environments. As well as salinity, Thellungiella has an exceptionally high resistance to cold, drought, and oxidative stresses. As a result, it has become an extremophile model for abiotic stress tolerance studies and two Thellungiella genomes have been sequenced. See the list of sequenced plant genomes. Thellungiella is an excellent model organism for several other reasons: it has a relatively small genome size (approximately twice that of A. thaliana), a rapid life cycle, small size, high seed production, and ecotypes available that show a range of stress responses. The genus includes the following species: Thellungiella botschantzeviiThellungiella parvulaThellungiella pumilaThellungiella runcinataThellungiella salsugineaThellungiella toxophyllaReferences1. ^http://jxb.oxfordjournals.org/content/63/17/6093.long 2. ^{{Cite journal|title = Genome Structures and Transcriptomes Signify Niche Adaptation for the Multiple-Ion-Tolerant Extremophyte Schrenkiella parvula|url = http://www.plantphysiol.org/content/164/4/2123|journal = Plant Physiology|date = 2014-04-01|issn = 1532-2548|pmc = 3982767|pmid = 24563282|pages = 2123–2138|volume = 164|issue = 4|doi = 10.1104/pp.113.233551|language = en|first = Dong-Ha|last = Oh|first2 = Hyewon|last2 = Hong|first3 = Sang Yeol|last3 = Lee|first4 = Dae-Jin|last4 = Yun|first5 = Hans J.|last5 = Bohnert|first6 = Maheshi|last6 = Dassanayake}} 3. ^{{PLANTS|id=THELL2|taxon=Thellungiella|accessdate=9 December 2015}} External links
