There was a lawsuit with Delta Lambda Phi over the use of the acronym DLP - Delta Lambda Psi and agreed to become TPS - Theta Pi Sigma. Also, Theta Pi Sigma - Alpha Chapter in 2015 has voted and banned the use of the misleading word "frarority" due to the potential social and legal ramifications of the use of gendered language because Theta Pi Sigma is registered as a fraternity with SOAR. Theta Pi Sigma is the world's first regional queer-focused, gender-neutral fraternity on the verge of becoming national with international aspirations. Mission statementThe purpose and objective of Theta Pi Sigma is to strengthen Greek life at the University of California, Santa Cruz by providing a vehicle for positive leadership, change, and growth in the queer, transsexual, transgender, questioning, pansexual, lesbian, intersex, gender-queer, gay, bisexual, asexual and ally communities.
