Its primary residents are students at Hull University.[2] HistoryThe Townhouse has been developed in one of Hull’s finest buildings. Queen Victoria commissioned the building for her personal physician Sir James Alderson in 1846. Before it was converted into a hotel in 2006, it had been used as a nightclub.[3] Many features of the original building have been maintained, such as the sweeping staircase and ornate pillars. Modern new features include an Italian marble reception area.[2] References1. ^{{National Heritage List for England|num=1197647|desc=Former Albion House|grade=II|accessdate=21 August 2017}} {{coord|53.7467|-0.3427|type:landmark_region:GB|display=title}}{{EastRidingofYorkshire-struct-stub}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Townhouse, Hull}}2. ^1 {{cite web|title=The Townhouse - Fantastic Student Accommodation in Hull City Centre|url=http://www.townhousehull.co.uk/|website=www.townhousehull.co.uk|accessdate=21 August 2017}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Investors step in with more cash to save hotel|url=http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/investors-step-in-with-more-cash-to-save-hotel-1-2566688|accessdate=21 August 2017|work=The Yorkshire Post|date=11 March 2010}} 3 : Grade II listed buildings in the East Riding of Yorkshire|Hotel buildings completed in 1846|1846 establishments in England |
