In November 2012, it was announced the company was being purchased for $2.9 billion by Precision Castparts Corp.[1] Its major U.S. operations are based in Morgantown, Pennsylvania; Henderson, Nevada; Vallejo, California; and Toronto, Ohio. Its overseas operations are primarily based in the United Kingdom (in the cities of Waunarlwydd and Witton) and in France (in the village of Ugine). The company's current headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas.[2] The company is most commonly referred to as TIMET, a shortened version of "TItanium METals" that is a registered company trademark. In September, 2007, TIMET entered into a ten-year supply agreement with United Technologies Corp (UTC). Under the agreement, TIMET would supply titanium to UTC for commercial and military aircraft and aircraft engines.[3] References1. ^{{cite news|last=Read|first=Richard|title=Precision Castparts to acquire Titanium Metals in $2.9 billion deal|url=http://www.oregonlive.com/business/index.ssf/2012/11/precision_castparts_to_acquire_1.html|accessdate=November 9, 2012|newspaper=The Oregonian|date=November 9, 2012}} {{Berkshire Hathaway}}{{US-manufacturing-company-stub}}2. ^[https://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=TIE] 3. ^{{cite web|title=TIMET enters into long term supply agreement with UTC.|url=http://www.thefreelibrary.com/TIMET+enters+into+long+term+supply+agreement+with+UTC.-a0168634590}} 4 : Companies formerly listed on the New York Stock Exchange|Manufacturing companies based in Dallas|Toronto, Ohio|2012 mergers and acquisitions |
