| taxon = Norfolkia thomasi | authority = Whitley, 1964 | synonyms = }}Norfolkia thomasi, known commonly as the Thomas' triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Norfolkia.[1] It was described by Whitley in 1964. The hemispherical eggs of the Thomas' triplefin are covered in sticky threads that help anchor them in the algae on their nesting sites. This adaption helps insure the safety of the eggs. One the eggs hatch the larvae that emerge are planktonic and they stick to shallow waters near the shore. The matured Thomas' triplefin then ventures out into the coral reef and intertidal pools.[2] References1. ^Norfolkia thomasi at www.fishbase.org. {{Taxonbar|from=Q2300383}}2. ^{{cite web|last1=Luna|first1=Susan|title=Norfolkia thomasi Whitley, 1964|url=http://www.fishbase.de/Summary/speciesSummary.php?ID=47191&AT=Thomas%26%2339%3B+triplefin|website=Fishbase|accessdate=9 March 2015}} 2 : Tripterygiidae|Fish described in 1964 |
