Prior to 7th century

  • 1284 – Al-Muzaffar Umar II becomes Emir of Hama.

  • 1918 – Town becomes part of French Mandate of Syria.

  • 1945 – Al-Nawair Sport Club formed.
  • 1946 – City becomes part of independent Syrian Republic.

    • April: Conflict between Islamic Brotherhood and Baath leaders.[6]

  • 1981 – April: 1981 Hama massacre.
