Between 1832 and 1840 he lived on the Island of Palmaria with his wife Stuarta (née Erskine) before moving to Genoa to become a consul. He died shortly after his retirement in 1858.[4] His son Montague Yeats-Brown succeeded him as British consul to Genoa.[3] See also
