Tiruchirappalli East Taluk is a taluk of Tiruchirapalli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu from 2013. The office is at a fort near town hall. Wards 7 to 38 and 43 of the City Corporation come under the East Taluk. This taluk covers most parts of Tiruchirapalli East constituency and has a separate regional transport office at Sanjeevi Nagar at Devadhanam. DemographicsAccording to the 2001 census, Tiruchirappalli East had a population of 849,604 with 419,482 males and 430,122 females or 1025 women for every 1000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 83.31. The age group under 6 numbered 37,994 Males and 36,633 Females.
