His debut film was Nim Walalla in 1970 directed by Ranjith Lal.[1] Early life and educationHe was educated at Nalanda College Colombo.[2] Film actingTissa had acted with "Queen of Sinhalese cinema" Malini Fonseka in many films such as Suhada Pethuma.[3] Also he played the role as lover to many other film actresses like Geetha Kumarasinghe, Nita Fernando, Jenita Samaraweera in films like Sureka, Sudu Paraviyo, Kalana Mithuro etc.[4] Tissa's best contemporaries in the film industry are Vijaya Kumaranatunga, Gamini Fonseka and Tony Ranasinghe.
