释义 |
To the Green Fields Beyond is a game created in 1978 by SPI, or Simulations Publications Incorporated. It is about the battle of Cambrai, which took place from November 20 to December 7, 1917. At Cambrai, the British and the French tried to use the newly invented tank (land ship as it was called at the time) to break through German front lines. It won the Charles S. Roberts Award for "Best 20th century Game" in 1978.[1] The phrase Through mud and blood to the green fields beyond was the unofficial motto of the Tank Corps[2] and From mud, through blood, to the green fields beyond is used as a slogan by the Royal Tank Regiment.[3] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.originsgames.com/awards/1978|title=Origins Award Winners (1978) |accessdate=2007-09-14 |publisher=Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design |archiveurl = https://web.archive.org/web/20070830114452/http://www.originsgames.com/awards/1978 |archivedate = 2007-08-30}} Ref verified 18 Jan 2013 {{game-stub}}2. ^{{ cite web|url=http://www.1914-1918.net/tanks.htm|title=The Tank Corps|publisher=The Long, Long, Trail: the British Army in the Great War|accessdate=18 January 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.royaltankregiment.com/en-GB/regcolours.aspx|title=Regimental Colours|publisher=Royal Tank Regiment Association|accessdate=18 January 2013}} 3 : Board games introduced in 1978|Charles S.
