This refers to the uneven texture of its integument.[1] DescriptionIndividuals measure 2.48–2.60 mm in length. General coloration is black with rust-colored legs and head.[1] RangeThe species is found around elevations of {{convert|1983|–|2185|m|ft}} on Mount Bukittinggul in the Indonesian province of West Java.[1] PhylogenyT. asper is in the T. dimorphus species group, and is closely related to T. variolosus.
