Trimetopon is a genus of colubrid snakes, which are endemic to Costa Rica. Species in the genus Trimetopon are known commonly as tropical ground snakes.

Species

These six species are currently recognised as being valid:[1][2][3]

  • Trimetopon barbouri {{small|Dunn, 1930}} – Barbour's tropical ground snake[4]
  • Trimetopon gracile {{small|(Günther, 1872)}} – Günther's tropical ground snake[5]
  • Trimetopon pliolepis {{small|Cope, 1894}} – Cope's tropical ground snake[6]
  • Trimetopon simile {{small|Dunn, 1930}} – Dunn's tropical ground snake[7]
  • Trimetopon slevini {{small|Dunn, 1940}} – Slevin's tropical ground snake[8]
  • Trimetopon viquezi {{small|Dunn, 1937}} – Víquez's tropical ground snake[9]

Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Trimetopon.
