The building was originally built to house the Troy Laundry Company. It was designated as Seattle Landmark in March 1996.[1] RenovationThe building was demolished in 2013, but its facade facing the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Thomas Street was preserved and will be incorporated into two new highrise office buildings, known as the Troy Block, to be built on the block.[2] The renovations costs $285,000,000 which started in 2015 and is scheduled for completion by 2017.[3] This two tower complex is designed by architecture firm Perkins + Will with Lease Crutcher Lewis as the general contractor. One tower will be 13 stories high while the other will be 1 story lower.[4] When completed, the new structure will provide 817,000 square feet of office space. See also
