ReceptionT.M.P. of The New York Times said, "Masquerading as Two Fisted in its second cinema reincarnation, "Is Zat So?", the farce by James Gleason and Richard Taber, seems just a trifle too antiquated to merit more than an affectionate pat on the back, so to speak. Coming from the Paramount workshop, it bears the stamp of James Cruze's sprightly direction, but otherwise merely illustrates that what was hilariously comic ten years back is no more than mildly amusing a decade later.
