Users create profiles, upload pictures and chat with other users. A paid subscription gives the user access to more features such as browsing invisibly and seeing who likes the user or who read the user's messages.[2] HistoryThe site was founded and launched in 2011 in Ghent, Belgium by Toon Coppens and Lorenz Bogaert who had previously founded Netlog. Twoo.com is owned by Massive Media. CriticismAccording to a 2013 report by TechCrunch, Twoo was using questionable methods to get new user registrations, with users complaints about unsolicited emails from Twoo, Twoo messaging all of their contacts, and unclear account deletion procedures.[7] In 2015, it was reported that Twoo was creating accounts in bulk based on a database from an external service bought by Twoo - Spring.me, which was not an online dating service.[8].
